‘Has Anyone From Kisco Come Home From Overseas Yet?’

Chief Kisco

Undated; postmarked June 28, 1944.

Dear Folks,

I am well, happy, and safe and I hope you all are the same.

By this time, Vince has probably been home and gone again.

You mentioned sending me some packages, but I have not received them as yet.

We listen to the news all day long now in anticipation of good news from other parts of the world.

Has anyone from Kisco come home from overseas yet? There should be a few trickling in if they didn’t get there yet. Has anyone I know been hurt? I don’t know anything about that place anymore now. I’ll have to be orientated on the place all over again when I get back.

Well, that’s about all I have for now, so I’ll sign off.

Love & Kisses,

Babe

  1. Great site. Great project. Puts us squarely, authentically in time and place. Babe plainly speaks for the WWII generation, and gives true eye to that time, without media filter & filigree. Thanks for taking the project on. I certainly will pass it along. BTW, came upon you thru image search for Camp Shenango, PA.
    Great stuff!

    1. Mike, thank you so much for taking the time to wander by my little corner of the Internet and make a comment here. Much appreciate your encouragement.
