From Florence Mauro to her son Babe, dated April 24, 1945; postmarked July 17, 1945, and obviously returned to her because Babe had been killed.

Dearest Son,
Received a couple of letters from you in the past week and sure was good to hear you are all right.
Thank God Vince is still around, too.
Grandma and ‘Pa went for a trip to Conshohocken. You remember that place, don’t you? They said everyone there was asking for you and they said they had a very nice time there. You know she got completely recovered from her sickness and is able to travel again.
Well, Babe, everything looks nice around the place, all in bloom. Your father sure is working hard planting and fixing up around. It sure will be a great day when you can all be home again to help him keep it nice.
He says he will go fishing with you every day off.
God bless you and keep you safe.
Love and kisses from all,
Mom
