Dated April 18, 1945; postmarked April 25, 1945. The picture is from one of my mother’s birthday parties, but I don’t know when. She looks like she might be 2 or 3 in this picture. She’s the girl in front, on the left. It appears to be on the front steps of the 491 Lexington Avenue home where she was raised.

I am well, happy and safe and I hope you all are the same.
So, your uncle is going to surprise me one of these days, eh? Well, I doubt if he could ever find me, even with a fast Pony Express.
And Rosemarie is going to start school soon, huh? Send me a picture of her the first day she goes to school.
